Introduction of Chen Jia Shang:
Born in 1933 in Tainan, Mr. Chen Jia Shang spent his childhood among the poor farmers, and brought up to become a person of simplicity, broad-mindedness, sincerity, steady and sentimental. His involvement in artistic works exceeds half a century of his life, and he continues to reveal his true feelings in the new creative works, which move people’s heart. From the experiences of his early childhood in the native land, he deeply loves the native soil, its scenic environment and the people. He captured the scenery of the livelihood of those hardworking, peaceful, sincere and honest people in his art works, which will last for eternity. As such, his works incline towards natural environment and the village people, with rigorous, simple and sincere style in pursuing the artistic state of truth, goodness and beauty. He is therefore named after Taiwan’s countryside artist ‘Millet’.
As such, Chen thinks that “Artistic creation is the pursuit of one’s heart. During the process the artist will ponder on the scope of the subject matter, the depth of artistic conception, the expression of a kind of life force with perfection and simplicity. He often says that, “If I were to draw a picture, no matter how good is my work, it will only be a picture, provided I was there to experience the situation personally. “ Chen is such a person of realism. Therefore, his paintings render a kind of beauty with reality, peace and harmony, as if there is a force to draw the viewers into his artistic world. Let us all visit Wisma Kebudayaan SGM to personally enjoy this happy feeling together!

陈甲上简介
陈甲上先生于1933年诞生于台湾台南县。陈氏的童年是穷苦的农民社会生活，因此造就了朴实无华、旷阔襟怀和真诚踏实重感情的为人。从事艺术创作已超过半个世纪的他，至今仍然持续不断的创作，在传承与创新中真情流露，撼动人心。由于早年得自生活的真实体验，他深爱纯朴乡土，对故乡的景色、人物等有着浓厚的情感，通过他‘真情流露’的笔触，将那种勤劳、安祥、朴实、踏实的生活景色，留驻画面成为永恒。为此，他的作品，倾向描绘自然风景和乡野人物，并以严谨、朴素、认真的态度追求真善美的艺术境界。也为此素有台湾田园画家‘米勒’之称。
陈氏认为“艺术创作是一种用心追求，在过程中时刻反思如何与题材广度、意境深度及气氛浓度进行对话，并表现出完美但朴实的一种生命重量感。他也常说：“看一张照片作画，如果不是我亲身体验，画得再好也不过是一张照片。” 陈氏就是这样一位实践主义的画家。所以他的作品，给人一种真实、宁静、谦和的美感，仿佛有着一股牵引观者走入他的绘画世界的力量。让我们大家亲身莅临综合文化中心享受这美好的感觉吧！
